Windmill Island Gardens
For the third year in a row, the Macatawa Water Festival, presented by Meijer, will be held on Holland’s Windmill Island. Over 30 community partners and sponsors will come together to offer water activities and educational experiences designed to engage both young and old to learn about restoring and preserving our lake and watershed.
People will be able to kayak and bike around the island while exploring and learning about the great outdoors. Other activities include trout fishing (under 17 yrs old), learning about native and invasive plants, performing water quality experiments, and learning about water filtration and pollutants. This year, we have added an aspect on Upcycling and Recycling with the Hope Sustainability Institute.
Meijer will provide seasonal fresh fruit from local farmers and water will be provided in abundance!
