Macatawa Water Festival

Saturday, July 15

9:00 am – 1:00 pm

Back for its third year on Holland’s Windmill Island, we hope you can join us for the Macatawa Water Festival this summer. Designed to get families and children engaged with Lake Macatawa, local waterways and the Macatawa Watershed, the festival will feature hands-on activities and educational exhibits from over two dozen partners from around the area. Opportunities include kayaking, paddling in a Voyageur canoe (Gabagouache), fishing (17 and under), biking, upcycling and recycling crafts, and other water related games and activities.

The festival is FREE thanks to many generous sponsors. A special call out to our presenting sponsor, Meijer, who will provide fruit and water for our guests to enjoy. We also thank our hosting partners at the Macatawa Area Coordinating Council and the Holland Hope College Sustainability Institute.

Fun games and crafts for all ages will be available and each young explorer will receive a watershed passport. As they visit and engage in the various activities, they will receive passport stamps. Once their passport is completed, they will turn it in for a prize. New this year, the festival will feature opportunities to learn how to compost and recycle and we will have many activities surrounding upcycling. Check out the Macatawa Water Festival’s Facebook Event Page for updated information as the event date draws nearer.
