Community Programs

Programs offered to the community include nature hikes, river paddling trips, summer camps, festivals, pig roasts, Michigan Hunter’s Safety, Library Programs and more. Many of the programs offered have an associated fee for participation. Members of the Outdoor Discovery Center Macatawa Greenway receive free or reduced program fee for many programs offered.

Equipment Rentals and Facility Use


All rental activities must be consistent with the mission or “spirit” of the organization and may not interfere with its normal operations. The ODCMG reserves the right to decline rental to any group or individuals deemed to be detrimental to or a risk to, the ODCMG mission, facilities or its visitors. Rental activities must not endanger visitors, animals or the facilities on the ODC Nature Preserve. A renter must be at least 25 years old and stay on-site for the duration of the rental.

Ojibwa Snowshoes are available for rent by visitors to the ODCMG Nature Preserve during business hours. Snowshoe use is $5 per pair for anyone age 14 years old and up. Hikers 13 years old and under are free with a paying adult. Stop at the Visitor Center desk to inquire more about snowshoe rental.

  • Ideal for persons 8 years old and up (smaller feet of children often do not fit in the snowshoe bindings)
  • Must be returned no later than 30 minutes before the end of the business day
  • May only be used on the ODC Nature Preserve
  • Must have at least 4 inch base of snow
  • Collateral must be left with our desk staff during a rental (car keys, ID, etc)
  • Replacement of damaged or lost snowshoes may be the responsibility of the user
Archery Facility

Our Archery Facility is available for use by ODCMG Members who have gone through a lesson with our range master. We have compound and recurve bows, arrows and targets for those who do not have their own equipment with them. The archery range is open during business hours.

Archers will get keys from and sign in and out from the desk at the Visitor Center.
