2023 Environmental Research Showcase

This Student Showcase will feature research presentations from Hope College students as well as 3rd, 4th and 5th graders from Holland Christian’s Forest School. All of these students have been hard at work this semester developing hypotheses, gathering and analyzing data and preparing reports and presentations. They are exited to share them with each other and a broader public audience!

Hope student presentations include the effects of sedimentary phosphorus on the Macatawa Watershed and heavy metal impacts of cigarette litter. Forest school students have been studying fishing success using different types of bait, ages of fungi, populations of macroinvertebrates and crayfish, the type of trash found in the watershed, and the relationship of stream flow rates and turbidity.

This event is free, open to all and will be held at the Hope College Maas Conference Center.

Your RSVP is appreciated to ensure enough refreshments are provided.
