Project Clarity Ag Luncheon

March 31, 2022

Event Details

On Thursday, March 31, 11:30am-1pm, Project Clarity’s Agricultural Committee will hold its 6th Agricultural Luncheon at the Zeeland Township Hall. We took a couple years off due to COVID, but we are pleased to bring this event back to celebrate recent accomplishments and discuss current and future programs available to support agricultural conservation in the Macatawa Watershed.

The program will include highlights from the last two years of Project Clarity’s implementation and monitoring efforts, along with guest speakers to discuss other opportunities available to farmers in the Macatawa Watershed. Alex Svoboda of the Ottawa Conservation District will discuss the Regional Conservation Partnership Program, an exciting new funding opportunity available to farmers in Ottawa County, including the entire Macatawa Watershed. Charles Gould of MSU Extension will discuss funding available through the Conservation Reserve Enhancement Program. Finally, Becky Huttenga of Ottawa County will discuss the Ottawa County Farmland Preservation Program and the importance of permanently protecting farmland. A local farmer will join to add their perspective on why farmland preservation is important to their farm.
