Help the ODC Gear up for Summer!

Summer is the busiest season for ODC!

Nearly 100,000 people visit ODC’s nature preserves and playscapes annually, and we are fortunate to continue serving more and more people each year. Programs for all ages fill quickly; thousands of people enjoy kayaking programs in the Macatawa Watershed, and hundreds of children participate in our summer camps. We need your help to grow our services to meet this demand.

We are so grateful to have so many people engaged in our Network’s many experiences. Offering high-quality experiences is a top priority for the ODC, organization-wide. As such, we ask for your support to help “Gear Up” our teams, programs, and facilities for what will likely be our busiest summer yet!

Thank you for supporting the mission of the ODC Network, we appreciate all contributions that allow the ODC Network to continue providing the best experiences for our families and friends throughout West Michigan.

We have 3 ways you can help:

How will your donation help?

Expand Green Spaces

To meet our Macatawa River Greenway and Project Clarity goals, you can help the ODC Conservation Services team restore 25 acres of prairie. The expanded prairie will improve water quality, increase wildlife habitat, and create additional outdoor learning spaces for children and families.

Our goal is to raise $25,000 to purchase native plants and seeds, a new greenhouse cover, maintenance supplies, and additional tools and equipment to help with a prairie restoration to expand green space within the Macatawa Watershed.

Outdoor Exploration Supplies

You can help the Outdoor Discovery Center upgrade and expand our fleet of kayaks, nets, and other tools used to provide memorable outdoor education experiences for children and families on our trails and waterways.

Our goal is to raise $22,250 to upgrade our exploration tools, such as new nets, compasses, auto-focus binoculars, and a new fleet of kayaks; including life vests and paddles.

Nature-based Summer School

450 students, who are not meeting grade-level literacy and math benchmarks and receive free/reduced lunch, will participate in an immersive, 6-week summer camp. This camp is designed to help students advance their learning during the summer through fun and engaging, nature-based experiences. You can help provide books to take home and two healthy meals each day.

Our goal is to raise $60,750 to provide breakfast and lunch every day and purchase a book collection for all 450 students during the 6-week camp.
