Bring the family and join us for Treats & Trails! This festive fall tradition invites families to explore Outdoor Discovery Center’s trails while enjoying games, candy, wildlife encounters, s’mores and plenty of fun along the way.
Don’t miss seeing the live birds of prey or roasting marshmallows. The Spoelhof Family Visitor Center, De Witt Birds of Prey Center, and Eldean Family Nature Play Park will be open throughout the event.
Children are encouraged to wear costumes, and all trails are accessible for wheelchairs, strollers, and wagons. To enjoy the full experience, families will walk a total of 1.2 miles.

We are looking for organizations to join as partners for this exciting community event. This is a great opportunity to connect with a few thousand people in our community!
Partners will host a candy station for the duration of the event. The fee is waived for nonprofit or government organizations, $150/business or corporation.
All partners and sponsors are expected to bring 3,000 pieces of candy that they will give away during the event.

Event parking is available at the designated shuttle parking location (Shekinah Revival Ministries, 1941 Washington Ave, Holland). ALL VISITORS must park at the shuttle parking area and take the free shuttle to the main entrance.
Drop-off: Stroller/wagon and wheelchair drop-off is available at the Outdoor Discovery Center main parking lot (4214 56th Street, Holland). After drop-off, the driver must exit the parking lot, park at the designated shuttle parking location, and take the shuttle back to the event. All group members must be present before entering the event. Families are welcome to wait for their entire group in the Spoelhof Family Visitor Center.
Outdoor Discovery Center parking lot parking is reserved for volunteers. Please follow the event signage and instructions when you arrive. An accessible bus is available at the shuttle location.

Admission includes access to the Treats & Trails activities, including the candy trail, live animal encounters, games, barrel rides, and other event activities. Hot chocolate, coffee, and s’mores will also be available while supplies last. Additional donations to support the ODC Network are welcome!

Yes! The event trails are wheelchair-, stroller-, and wagon accessible. The full event experience includes approximately 1.2 miles of walking. Strollers and wagons can be difficult to accommodate on the shuttle, so we recommend using the stroller drop-off at the Outdoor Discovery Center parking lot.

You can stay as long as you’d like during event hours. To experience the entire event, plan to walk approximately 1.2 miles. This may take you 1.5-2 hours.
Yes, you can pay with cash or card at the event, but we encourage you to preregister online to speed up check-in when you arrive. QR codes will also be available on the shuttle buses so you can register on your way to the event.
No. We recommend bringing your own candy bag, bucket, or other container to collect your treats.
We will have allergy-friendly treat options available. Because treats come from multiple partners and organizations, we cannot guarantee that all treats are free of specific allergens. Please ask at the event if you have questions about a particular treat.
Yes! You can stop along the route to take a break and enjoy the surroundings. You do not need to complete every activity or visit every stop.
Yes! Portable restrooms will be available at several locations throughout the event.
No. Admission allows for one visit during event hours, so please plan accordingly. No admissions will be granted after 6:00 PM on the event night.
Dress for the weather and wear comfortable shoes for exploring the trails. Costumes are welcome but not required. We recommend choosing a costume that is comfortable and easy to move around in while walking the trails.
