What began as a single nature-based preschool has expanded into a network of sites that serve hundreds of children each year, all guided by the same mission: to provide a quality early childhood experience that prepares young learners to be active, independent explorers with a lifelong connection to the natural world.
Across all of our locations, children engage in meaningful, hands-on learning rooted in nature. Our programs are intentionally designed to nurture curiosity, confidence, problem-solving, independence, and social connection. We believe deeply that children learn best not by being told, but by discovering, questioning, experimenting, and exploring within environments that inspire wonder.
Each center within ODC Early Childhood Network reflects the same foundational approach but is uniquely shaped by its surrounding environment and the needs of the community it serves. While our programs vary, ranging from part-time preschool models to full-time childcare, every site upholds a consistent standard of excellence and a deep commitment to the natural world.
ODC Early Childhood Network is more than a collection of schools—it is an ecosystem.
Our educators, leaders, support services, and community partners work collaboratively across sites to strengthen practice, share learning, and continually elevate the experiences we provide to children. Through this shared vision and collective effort, we create top-tier early learning environments where children thrive outdoors, form meaningful relationships, and build the foundation for lifelong learning.
We also see ODC Early Childhood Network as a catalyst for regional impact. By partnering with employers, school districts, municipalities, and community organizations, we are expanding the reach of nature-based education and helping shape a healthier, more connected future for children and families across West Michigan.
In every classroom and every outdoor space, ODC Early Childhood Network stands as a testament to what early childhood education can be when purpose, nature, and community come together.
Our programs honor childhood, support families, strengthen communities, and remain grounded in our belief that nature-rich learning fosters stronger, happier, more capable young learners.
